While work is progressing somewhat slowly, I do believe that the upgrade from the US4 needles to the US7 needles has definitely been an improvement.
This was the first time I have ever worked with metal DPNs and I have to say it was an experience. They slid around a bit more than my bamboo and they are definitely on the heavier side. Not sure if I like them yet, though.
Part of the reason things have been moving a bit slowly is because, even though the pattern is relatively simple, I guess I haven’t been paying as much attention as I should and I’ve had to tink back a row here and there. Very annoying, but that is what I get for not paying attention. As you can see, the shawl is nowhere near as dense as it was with the 4s and the pattern is much more open. I definitely like it much better this time around. As for the continental knitting, I’ve found that I do tend to knit more tightly with that style right now. It may just be because I’m not sure yet how to regulate the tension properly. We’ll see how that progresses.
